Privacy policy
The short version
- Your microphone audio is turned into words on your PC, in memory, and then discarded. It is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- Your scripts and settings are stored only on your PC.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no ads, no tracking, no accounts.
- The app connects to the internet only to talk to the Microsoft Store — to check your license, to process a purchase and, once, to show its rating dialog.
- Payments are handled by Microsoft. We never see your card or your Microsoft account details.
CuePrompt is published by Individual Entrepreneur Aliaksei Karatynski (Georgia) under the name Alkor Labs — "we" and "us" below. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and these pages. If you have a question, write to support@alkorlabs.com.
Microphone audio
The app uses your microphone only for voice following, and only while it is running. Windows shows its microphone indicator whenever an app is listening.
- Speech recognition runs entirely on your computer, using a speech model that ships inside the app. No internet connection is needed or used for it.
- Audio is kept in memory only for the fraction of a second it takes to recognise the words, then it is discarded. It is never written to disk, recorded, or sent to us or to anyone else.
- The recognised words are used only to find your place in the script, and are not stored either.
You can turn off the app's access to the microphone at any time in Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone. Constant-speed and manual scrolling keep working without it.
What the app stores on your PC
The app keeps these files in its own folder in your Windows user profile. They never leave your computer, and we have no access to them:
- your scripts (including any you moved to the app's trash);
- your settings: appearance, hotkeys, window position, chosen microphone;
- how many minutes of free voice following you have used today;
- your Pro status as the Microsoft Store last confirmed it. The app uses it only until the Store answers, or while the Store can't be reached; when the Store doesn't confirm Pro, it is dropped;
- if you entered a review code (meant for Microsoft's testers): the code and when it was accepted;
- a count of successful sessions, used to ask for a Store rating once — and a note that we already asked, so we never ask again;
- a technical log: start-up details, errors, and file and folder paths, never your script text or audio. Each day's log is deleted after 14 days. It stays on your PC unless you choose to attach it to an email to us.
Two things can be written outside that folder:
- If the app has to close while a script can't be saved (for example, Windows shuts down while the disk is full), it saves the script's text as "CuePrompt unsaved <date>.txt" in your Documents folder. If Documents can't take it, the file goes to the app's temporary folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\<app package>\TempState). The next start tells you where. If OneDrive syncs your Documents folder, it syncs that file too. The copy in Documents stays until you delete it. Windows may empty the temporary folder at any time, so move a copy from there to a safe place.
- If the app can't open its own folder at start-up, it writes that day's log to its temporary folder, under CuePrompt\logs.
If you use Windows Backup, Windows may include the app's data in your own OneDrive backup. That is a Windows feature between you and Microsoft; we never have access to it.
What goes over the network
The app has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code, and no account system. It does not contact our servers at all.
The only network connections it makes are to the Microsoft Store, through Windows, to check whether you own Pro, to show its price, to process a purchase when you choose to buy, and once to show the Store's own rating dialog. Microsoft processes that information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Purchases
Pro is sold by the Microsoft Store. Microsoft handles payment, taxes and receipts. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Microsoft gives us sales reports with aggregated figures — for example, how many copies were bought in which country — which we use to run the business.
If you email us
When you write to support@alkorlabs.com, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message, and use them only to answer you. That mailbox serves all Alkor Labs products; how mail to it is received, kept and forwarded is described in the Alkor Labs privacy policy. We delete support conversations on request.
These pages
These pages are part of alkorlabs.com, the Alkor Labs website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or third-party scripts. One small script of ours remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, in your browser's local storage; it is never sent to us. How the site is hosted is described in the Alkor Labs privacy policy.
Ratings and reviews
After 3 successful sessions the app may show the Microsoft Store's own rating dialog — once, and never again. Whether you rate is up to you, and nothing in the app depends on it. Reviews you post in the Store are public and are governed by Microsoft's terms.
Deleting your data
- Uninstalling the app removes its folder and its temporary folder on your PC: scripts, settings, counters, logs, and any unsaved-text copy or start-up log in the temporary folder. Copy any script you want to keep to a file first.
- Uninstalling does not remove "CuePrompt unsaved" text files in Documents (see What the app stores on your PC). Delete them yourself if you don't need them.
- To start fresh without uninstalling: Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → CuePrompt → ⋯ → Advanced options → Reset. This deletes the same folders as uninstalling; the files in Documents stay.
- Individual scripts can be deleted in the app; deleted scripts go to the app's trash, where you can restore them or remove them for good.
- To have support emails deleted, write to support@alkorlabs.com.
Children
The app is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because the app keeps your data on your own computer, you already hold all of it. The only personal information we may have is a support email. You can ask us to see, correct or delete it, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. If a change affects how the app handles your data, we'll say so in the app's release notes before it takes effect.
