Follows your voice
Scrolls as you speak, highlights the current word, waits when you pause and catches up when you skip. Offline, on-device. English for now.
Teleprompter for Windows
Just talk. Your script scrolls as you speak, waits when you pause or go off-script, and catches up when you skip ahead. Speech recognition runs offline, on your PC — your audio never leaves it.
Free to use, with 10 minutes of voice following every day. Pro is a one-time $9.99. No account, no ads, no tracking.
No server, no account, no upload. Everything below happens on your computer, even with Wi-Fi turned off.
A compact English speech model is built into the app. It turns your microphone audio into words right on your computer, as you speak.
Each word you say is matched against the script around where you are. Skip a paragraph and it finds you again within a few words; ad-lib and it waits. Text in [square brackets] is shown as a cue and never expected.
The text glides so the line you're reading stays on the reading line, near your camera. One hotkey nudges it a line up or down — you're always in charge.
Your audio stays on your PC. It's held in memory only for the moment it takes to turn it into words, then discarded. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere — the app has no analytics and no telemetry. The only connection it makes is to the Microsoft Store, for your license and purchases.
Built for video calls, recordings, talks, lectures and sermons.
Scrolls as you speak, highlights the current word, waits when you pause and catches up when you skip. Offline, on-device. English for now.
Stays on top of Zoom, Teams and PowerPoint — even a full-screen slide show. Set the transparency, make it narrow, park it right under your camera.
Hidden from screen sharing and recordings, so your audience sees your slides, not your script. Needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later.
Clicks pass straight to the window underneath, so the prompter never gets in the way. Toggle it with Ctrl+Alt+T.
Voice following; constant speed in words per minute, adjustable live; or manual — mouse wheel, arrow keys, Page Up/Down and foot pedals that act as keys.
Paste text or import .txt, .md and .docx. A local library saves as you type and survives crashes. Saving is never behind a paywall.
Big text, line spacing and margins; dark, light and high-contrast themes; a reading line and current-word highlighting.
A countdown before you start, a running timer, and an estimate of how long the script takes to read.
Start, pause, faster, slower, a line back or forward, show or hide — without leaving your call. Rebind them as you like. Lives in the tray.
Put it on whichever screen holds your camera. Text stays crisp at any display scaling, across mixed-DPI setups.
Flips the text for beam-splitter teleprompter glass, so it reads correctly in the reflection.
Write [pause], [smile] or [next slide] in square brackets. You see the cue; voice following doesn't wait for you to say it.

The free minutes reset every day at midnight, and you see what's left before you start. If they run out in the middle of a take, the prompter doesn't stop: it carries on at your own speaking pace and lets you know with a calm note.
Pro is linked to your Microsoft account, so it's there on your other Windows PCs too. The price shown is in US dollars; the Microsoft Store shows the price in your currency.
No. Speech recognition runs on your PC with a speech model that ships inside the app. Your audio is processed in memory and thrown away as soon as it has been turned into words; it is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. Voice following works with no internet connection at all.
Yes. The prompter floats on top of any app, including a full-screen PowerPoint slide show, and it can share the microphone with your meeting app at the same time.
With Pro, it's also hidden from screen sharing and recording in apps that capture the screen through Windows — Zoom, Teams, OBS, the Snipping Tool and the Xbox Game Bar among them. Try a quick test call before an important one.
In the free version, yes — it's an ordinary window, so keep it on a screen you don't share. Pro hides it from shares and recordings on Windows 10 version 2004 or later. On older versions of Windows, your audience would see a black rectangle where the prompter is, and the app tells you so.
A camera pointed at your screen or a hardware capture card records the physical display, so they will still see it.
Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 or later. Hiding from screen sharing needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later. Voice following needs a microphone; a headset or a microphone close to you works best.
English, in this version. More languages are planned as optional, downloadable speech models. Constant-speed and manual scrolling work with scripts in any language.
That's what it's built for. When you pause or go off-script, it waits. When you skip ahead, it finds you again within a few words. When you repeat a phrase, it doesn't run ahead. Numbers can be said the way you'd say them — "twenty twenty-six" for 2026. If it ever loses you, keep reading, or nudge it with Ctrl+Alt+Up and Ctrl+Alt+Down.
Accuracy depends on your microphone, the room and your accent, so try the free daily minutes before buying Pro.
You always see the minutes left before you start. If they run out in the middle of a take, the prompter keeps going at the pace you were speaking and shows a calm note — no sudden stop. Constant-speed and manual scrolling stay free and unlimited, and the minutes come back the next day.
Yes, if it acts like a keyboard: pedals and clickers that send Page Up/Page Down or arrow keys scroll the prompter when it has focus. If your pedal can send key combinations, map it to the prompter's global hotkeys and it works even while another app is in front.
Neither. Pro is a one-time $9.99 purchase, handled by the Microsoft Store with your Microsoft account; there's no account with us. It works on the other Windows PCs where you use the same Microsoft account in the Store.
