FingerstickPrivacy Policy
- Your readings and Apple Health data stay on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own private iCloud.
- We have no account system, no servers that receive your data, no analytics and no tracking.
- We cannot see your readings. We only see what you choose to e-mail us.
Fingerstick is made by Alkor Labs ("we"). This policy explains what happens to the information you put into the app.
What the app stores
The app stores what you type or import: glucose readings with date, time and tag, and, if you add them, carbs, insulin, medicine, notes, how you felt, your target range, profile names and app settings. All of it is stored on your device.
iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud sync, your log is also saved in your own private iCloud database, provided by Apple and tied to your Apple Account. Only you can read it. We have no access to it, and it is covered by Apple's privacy policy. You can turn sync off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
Apple Health
Fingerstick asks for access to Apple Health only when you tap a feature that needs it.
- Reading from Health (blood glucose, carbohydrates, insulin) happens only when you tap Import, so readings saved by other apps can appear in your log.
- Writing to Health happens only if you turn on "Save to Health"; then each reading you log is also saved to Health.
Data from Apple Health is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can change Health access at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-in. We don't ask for your name, e-mail or phone number.
- No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or third-party code inside the app.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data.
- This website sets no cookies and runs no scripts or analytics.
Purchases
Pro purchases and the yearly plan are handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether Pro is active on your Apple Account.
Files you create and share
You can create a PDF report, a CSV file or a backup file. These files are made on your device and go only where you send them, for example to your doctor by Mail, to Files, to a printer or by AirDrop. Once you share a file, what happens to it is up to you and the people you share it with. A backup file contains your whole log, so keep it somewhere safe.
Reminders
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Deleting your data
Delete any reading in the app; that also deletes the copy Fingerstick saved to Apple Health, and, with sync on, the copy in your iCloud. Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. To remove the iCloud copy, turn off iCloud sync and delete the app's data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Deleting the app does not touch Apple Health: readings it saved there stay in Health until you delete them in the Health app.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
E-mail to support
If you write to us, we receive your e-mail address and what you write. We use it only to answer you and delete it when it is no longer needed. Please don't send readings or health details unless you want us to see them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will never start collecting your health data without asking you first.
